Commander in Chief - A Constant Critique

As the DNC stokes fears
About division and hate,
Joy and civility appear relevant
And consequential.
The possibility of a recession
Seems moderate -
The logic of a woman’s options
Becomes fixed as ever;
And burning the flag further extols
The rights of the oppressed
To violently belittle this democracy.

Rampant inflation exists;
Crimes and mishaps
Implore lenient law enforcement policies -
Uncontrolled immigration invites
Wild and costly taxpayer burdens.
And Trump loyalists
Describe the economy
As an attempt
To sync higher taxes
To a nonsensical fuels policy.

The U.S. seeks control over global conflicts
With an inadequately funded,
Under-prepared military
The likes of which mirror
A losing, hopeless terror
In every significant region
Of this lordly, savage, tranquil,
And salient Earth,
Cultivating a culture
Of incredulity and admonishments;
As the door lays open
For a terrorist attack
Upon the United States of America…

A repressive massacre -
The most macabre exploration
Of gender cues and qualities -
And a fentanyl laced society
Approved by Mexican and Chinese actors -
A democratic association;
Ineffective politicians
Driving an ingloriously tolerant section
Of morals in our fumbling society…
