One thanksgiving at one home.
During thanksgiving Uncle Benson and Uncle Oliver was horseplaying
in the living room. Uncle Benson was trying really hard to get uncle Olivers'
face into his armpit. We all were laughing so hard, Uncle Oliver was squirming like a worm on a hook. Finally, he gave in and laid still while Uncle Benson rubbed his face in his arm pit.
They helped each other up and laughing as they headed for the kitchen.
Thinking the whole thing was so funny I had to be a part of it. So, I grabbed Sissy to do the same thing.

About 2 hours later, after half a dozen
stitches under my arm, where Sissy bit me and a shot to boot.
My mother said, "Remember now Sissy is a dog.” as she went back to directing the kitchen traffic and still working on some preparation.
Shortly out paraded the Green Bean Casserole followed by plate full of dinner rolls. Then giant bowl of mashed potatoes along with an equally large bowl of sweet potatoes.
We are eaters to be clear. Cranberry dressing and turkey dressing was next with the large platter with the Turkey on it finishing it off. The table was totally full.
We all gathered around and waited for mom to settle and Dad to clear his throat signaling time for Grace. Suddenly Mom let out a loud wooooop! and darted for the bathroom, mumbling through the hand she had over her mouth “I forgot my teeth”.
Of course, we all laughed thankful that was the only problem.
Mom came in and set on Dads left, where she could feed Sissy scraps. Uncle Oliver set across from Mom and Uncle Benson and I set beside him. The two chairs on Moms side of the table were for my sister, and her guest.
Cathy was her best friend as well as being Uncle Olivers ex. She was a very high tempered young lady that had a ‘better than you attitude’. She even had a lap cat she took everywhere and did set on her lap all the time.

Lara Ann and Cathy came in throwing their coats in the living room and come straight into the dining room.
Immediately the feeling that this was not a good idea was felt throughout. It turned ice cold in that room. At least till Cathy started hollering and bad-mouthing Uncle Oliver.
Suddenly all heck broke out. Cathy was hollering and starting to point at Uncle Oliver, when her cat leaped from the bag it was setting in and onto the table. Not just the table but front paws in mashed potatoes and back paws in the sweet potatoes. All of a sudden Sissy watching all the commotion jumped onto the table, and the cat screeched and turned to run. Potatoes went everywhere!
Sissy started to give chase, and her hind legs landed in the gravy and cranberry sauce. Her front paws finally got a grip, but it was on the Turkey and off it went! All this happened in about 30 seconds. Cat running from dog and food going everywhere. I laughed so hard I had to go change pants! After catching the cat and settling Sissy down, Lara Ann and Cathey left and needless to say
“We ordered out that night”
