Follow a young teen girl's journey as she tries to figure out her true identity
The Royal guards were sitting on their knees, talking. It was their break, so they could and wouldn’t be sent out of the room. A guard in silver, and a guard in gold, their spears propped up against the wall. The Princess was only 3 at the time, and was busying herself by playing with the gold guard's ears. All of the people in the kingdom were demihumans, oftentimes called hybrids. It was rare to be a Crossover, as only 1 in every 50,000 years was born a Crossover. Both of the guards were wolf-human hybrids.
The Princess was busying herself by pushing down the gold guards ears and watching them pop back up. For some reason, she found this extremely amusing. She, as far as they knew, was a wolf hybrid, pretty common. Both the King and the Queen were wolf hybrids.
The Princess laughed as the gold guard's ears popped back into place, earning a smile from both the guards. They adored the Princess, as young as she was, still a cub.

She looked up at them, her eyes wide and adoring, her ginger hair pinned away from her delicate face. The only source of color in the Plane was from the little Princess. She defied the rules of the black and white and pale blues that the Plane had, and went fiery. There was speculation that she was the legendary Phoenix, a symbol of resistance and rebirth. But from the Realm of the Dead? No way, hose.
She spoke. “How can I help?”

RING!
I groaned and rolled over, pulling my black eye mask from my left eye and checking the clock. 3:15 a.m. I hate having to wake up this early...but duty calls. Why? No idea!
I pull my eye mask off and stand up, stretching out my black and gold wings out, the tips purple. I pull a spare shirt over my head, poking my head through the white fabric and wiggling my arms through
