A simple poem about my love for a beautiful girl who doesn't love me as much as I do her.
I had to clip my wings because you were afraid to fly,
Now I'm walking because you couldn't run,
I have to love so intensely just to balance your hate,
I am laughing hysterically because of your blinding sadness,
Tell me darling when did I sign up for this filth?

We share the same bed but everyone has their own duvets,
When we share the same air you decide to hold your breath,
Our conversations are getting shorter than an old man's telomeres,
When other lovers look at each other with love you look at me with disgust,
Tell me darling who forced you into this?

What devours my being even more is that you still drive me crazy,
Your smile is still more beautiful than the curves of a hilly tarmac,
Your scent is still hotter than the smell of soil after summer rain,
Your kiss is still softer than the breeze of the Pacific,
Tell me darling how can I make you love me like I do you?
