The lakes of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya are a stunning collection of freshwater and alkaline bodies, each offering a unique landscape and ecosystem. Lake Elementaita – This smaller alkaline lake is nestled between Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, and like its neighbors, it hosts large numbers of flamingos. It is surrounded by a mixture of forest and grassland, providing a calm and serene environment. The area is often quieter compared to the more famous Lake Nakuru but is just as beautiful.

Lake Bogoria – This is a highly saline and alkaline lake, often regarded as one of the most unique in the region. Known for its geothermal activity, Lake Bogoria is surrounded by hot springs and geysers, creating an almost surreal landscape. The lake is also home to large flocks of flamingos and other waterfowl, making it a birdwatcher's paradise.
