Twenty days, from January 5th to January 25th, that's the time it took me to watch Taxi Driver. What inspired me to dedicate my time and emotionally invest in a show was Squid Game's season 2. I became so interested in Im Si-Wan that I searched what shows he acted in and found out about Tracer, which was on Kocowa. I quickly noticed that I must have a subscription to it to see all episodes, so that's what I did. I wasn't interested enough in Tracer, so I found a different show. That's when I saw Taxi Driver. I wasn't sure about the "thriller" and "action" part, but I was ready to find out what it was about. From the first episode, I knew it was interesting. The concept of dropping off the victims at an arcade game spot to choose if they want to take revenge or not was truly fascinating. At first, it felt like the Rainbow Taxi team was only handling individual cases, which took a few episodes each, but it quickly became something larger. You saw the bigger picture of the cases and how things were connected. What I loved was Kim Do Ki, the main character, taking jobs to get the mission accomplished, like a substitute teacher or a worker at U-data, which you will see when you watch the show. The way he put on a second layer of acting when he was already acting because it's a show was very entertaining. Even the bad guys, people who have done something extremely wrong, were funny. How the boss at U-data would call his employees punks and how Baek-Sung Mi got mad at different situations added a light touch to something so heavy. The show made me realize how many people in this world have been wronged and how the convict being thrown to prison will never take the hurt away from the people hurt by it. Overall, of the very few shows that I've watched in the past years, this was the best one. This is more than a show; it raises awareness of how flawed the law is and how many people are still so upset that they would want to get revenge. That's the heart of Rainbow Deluxe Taxi: seeking justice in a way that the system often can't.
