A Girls struggle with Addiction

Happiness in vein.

Beneath the city's neon haze,
In alleys where the shadows play
She finds her solace in a daze
A fleeting peace that fades away.

A needle's kiss, a lover's lie
Promises of an endless high
Her veins map out a life of waste
She sells her soul for one more taste

Echoing through her veins again
She speaks to it as if a friend
Her life it dances upon the law
A fragile line behind closed doors

Her reflection bares a haunted sight
Eyes that once were full of light
Now mirror only endless night
In a battle she can't fight.

But somewhere in the silent plea
A whisper of what could still be
A spark of hope, a chance to see
Beyond the chains, to finally free.

Yet for now, she's caught in time
A prisoner of her own design,
Lost within this tangled world
She remains her daddy's little girl.
