On the Eve of 9/11: God Bless the Nation

This eve brings more than one tragedy - a reminder of intolerance on our Earth - a poem

The political movements toward free expression
And the religious, Judeo-Christian origins
Of the Land of Freedom and Liberty
Have encountered a horrible
And slippery dementia -
The brutal and terrifying assassination
Of a foremost voice
In the education of our young people -
The martyrdom of this magical
And wounded soul,
Charlie Kirk, has ventured
To the Side of His Creator;
And his blessed voice shall continue
To stir those angry and aching proxies
And his incalculably grieving wife and offspring
To the world’s epic noon-tide;
The hopeful and strident restoration
Of a safe and fair,
Prosperous America
Of distinguished grace
And valor appears in the offing;
Whose just and open nature
Must and shall respect the duties
And moral clarity
Of its polarizing positions;
And encourage growth and foster
Symbolic but meaningful dialogue -
And be subject to inscrutable
And trusting relationships
With all styles of governmental leadership
To provide solace to victims
Of all engagements, proclivities and ranks;
Regardless of who they are
And what pillars of power and vibrant austerity
They stand for -
For Americans to claim they belong to
The Righteous Throne
Of Our Savior and The Great Almighty -

Out of sincere and faithful deference
To Charlie,
And the families
Of the victims of 9/11 -

As they seek to sue
Saudi Arabia for their accused involvement
In that horrific nightmare
For which much solid evidence exists
Of their insufferable and invasive and
Corrupt guilt -
Which may bring a strained but welcome
Measure of justice
And closure to this inexcusable and
Shameful tragedy upon our shores -
Which they have been allowed to
To get away with
For way too long…
