My Raggedy Ann was my best friend.
She listened to all the things I would say.
Then one day my dog chewed on her arm.
And Raggedy Ann could no longer play.
I cried because I thought she might die.
But my mother who I have seen, is very smart.
She said she knew of a hospital where dolls got help.
And fixed every doll's missing or broken part.
That night I tried to sleep alone in my bed.
And my evening time to play was not much fun.
Tomorrow I knew Raggedy Ann would come back home.
'Cause the treatment by a doctor of dolls would be done.
My mother came home with a great big smile.
In her arms was a blanket with my fixed friend.
I could not hug my Raggedy Ann long enough.
Seeing that our friendship and play would never end.
Again this is from my old poems binder. And yes I did have a Raggedy Ann doll.
