Nick's battle to regain some of his bodily functions.

Nick's Misfortune

Words of encouragement I hear all around me.
Still that's little comfort when your down and out.
Can't know this feeling if you haven't been here.
You stay in a deep depression with no despair.

Before I wrecked my truck I was very healthy,
and active in many different kinds of sports.
My condition took all my bodily functions away.
I can't relieve myself without someone's help.

Doctors offer no chances for a full recovery now.
I still hope and pray I do recover some functions.
I was19 when I lost control and wrecked my truck.
It has been 2 years of recovering without any luck.

I told my girlfriend to find an other and forget me.
To go on loving her in life it was not meant to be.
I don't want to be a burden to anyone at all.
without an income it's hard not to be a burden.

My medical bills are left for my parents to pay.
They have already went through their life savings.
to help with the Doctors and my hospital costs.
My parents both have a terminal form of Cancer.

I owe them so much no matter what's my condition.
I've already lost a lot, but loosing them life is all over.
As time slips away I will continue to pray to God.
Maybe if my faith is strong enough God will help me.

Since the writing of this poem Nick's parents have died.
His mother died of terminal Cancer, father of Diabetes.
His condition has not changed much he's still praying.
Nick is one of many kids who have faced a misfortune.
