Sestina poem about spring for a contest.
It is my favourite season, spring
When air is full of such delicious scent
Babes and growth, all things new
Awaken from winter's slumber with feeling
It is a period of being young
And of maturity's wisdom bearing fruit

From the land comes bountiful fruit
Out of the ground will new life spring
Tender and innocent, being so young
With rich and earthy scent
It causes in one such a refreshing feeling
To look upon earth's charm anew

From winter's hold bursts the new
Displaying nature's glorious fruit
Baby chicks and ducklings invoke a feeling
The season has sprung. Now it's spring.
On softened breezes rides the scent
Of re-awakened life and the young

To borrow youth from the young
Viewing through refreshed vision everything as new
Untainted perspective brings welcome scent
Of earth's continual production of fruit
That we can appreciate the newness of spring
And rekindle tired passion and feeling

Does the season give you this feeling
Another chance at being young
In your step is there a dance or spring
Looking through eyes like everything's new
Does it make you want to partake of her fruit
And drink of her heavenly scent

May you too find this satisfying scent
Reviving in you a forgotten feeling
Of sampling luscious healthy fruit
Watching with pleasure the play of the young
And enjoying the generous production of new
Found in my favoured season of spring

Pleasing days of spring with aromatic scent
Bringing new life and feeling of freedom
So we can revel in the young and sample fruit of the older
