Do you believe in fairy tales? |
A long, long time ago In a castle far away A princess was locked up; In a tower she must stay! She gazed out the window At the valley far below Somewhere her prince was Waiting, but he didn't know Her father had been angry When she told him of her love Banished her to the tower room In the castle far above. She cried out for her lover To rescue her that night; She didn't know the dragons Would kill her prince on sight! Fierce and fiery were the eyes Of the dragons standing guard; No one dared to get near them As they moved across the yard. The winds carried her voice Far across the land To the ears of the prince Who knew he must make a stand! A gallant steed he mounted With sword of shining steel; He raced to save his princess Whose deep love he could feel. Approaching the castle, He saw the dragons fire But he rode on toward them; His courage soaring higher! The dragons roared and raced To meet the intruder on horse, Who dared come near the castle He soon would feel remorse! The flashing blade of the sword Went sailing through the air Piercing the dragon's heart And left it lying there. The other dragons halted - No match were they for the fight! They spread their wings and Flew away, far up into the night. He came to slay the dragons To claim his dearest love; He saw her at the window In the tower up above. Her father saw the battle Of the dragons and the prince Admiring such courage, He didn't even wince! He opened wide the castle gate To greet the prince and said "Your love for my daughter Is that great, you must be wed!" Released from the tower, She ran to her prince's side And just days thereafter She became his loving bride. A gallant steed he mounted And lifted her with ease His princess smiled and waved Goodbye to Castle Donabees. Although this is a fairy tale, You know what you must do You have to slay the dragons To make your dreams come true! |
