This poem is a simple heart felt love poem to my wife. |
KIMBERLY It was spoken before earth’s foundations were laid. A fair name far more precious than diamonds or jade. It had echoed throughout all the hallways of time, So melodiously sweet and so pure, so sublime. It rang musically clear from a crystalline throat. Twas a mesmerizing song from a young seraph poet. On the day of your birth your dear mother’s ear heard As he whispered that song, that most beautiful word . . . “Kimberly” From eternity past, long before time began, God created the sweetest, most wonderful plan. On the ocean of life, all alone and adrift, He bestowed unto me that most precious rare gift. All the angels stood awestruck when He locked in time That sweet infinite moment our souls He entwined. We are both now complete for what once were in part, Are no longer the two, but one soul, mind and heart. Our expressions of love gave us fruit from the womb. Thrice did blossom our vine then came one special bloom. What had seemed but a day has been many long years. So much life we have shared, both the good times and tears. Still until that day comes when we cross to that shore, Where His glory burns bright, the sun needed no more, I will say with a whisper like soft fallen dew, "Darling, Kimberly, I will forever love you.” ---D.
