The inspiration for this poem came from reading "Roses" by Dave a wonderful "Writer", although he says he does not think of himself as one.
Take Some Time
Only a mile from where I stand,
A man-made road cuts through the land,
Where cars and trucks pass by
With people that don't even see the sky.
The images outside their car windows
Are just blurs, and none of them knows,
They pass on land buffalo herds would roam,
Where Indian would hunt and make their home.
I wonder if our future generations
Will ever know the exhilaration,
Of the marvelous smell of a rose
Or how grass feels on bare toes.
How can they go about their lives
Never to think and realize,
They will only be able to see
These wonders on a computer or TV.
