Love's Hope

Wishing upon a nightly star,
I wonder where you are.
Lost inside this world of pain,
your memory is all that keeps me sane.
Each day feels like an eternity since you’re not here with me.
With each step that I take,
I imagine your angelic face.
Struggling to survive,
your love keeps me alive.
Fighting for what I know is right,
I follow your shining light.
Through the darkness of shattered dreams,
this world is never what it seems.
So much suffering and so much sorrow, I sometimes wonder if I’ll see tomorrow.
Though danger lurks at every turn,
I know someday I will return.
