Love is the greatest gift of all.... |
The Human Touch He was a homeless man down on his luck; No will to go on, or to make a buck. In those he met he saw hate and disgust; Many a day he was taunted and cussed. She was an orphan child with never a home, Of pleasures and family her heart did roam. No one to care on special days, No one to guide her in all of her ways. The world was too busy to notice or care, The burdens and heartaches that others bear. The tears and griefs which so freely flowed, As they wearily walked their lonely road. Will you sometimes notice the sadness there is? Would you then let your eyes boldly meet his? Letting him see the warmth of your gaze, So he’d know someone cared the rest of his days. What will you do for the orphan child? Will you travel with her the extra mile? Show her the warmth of a special place, Letting her see the care in your face. A warm human touch is never declined; The human spirit it often will bind; It gives hope and courage to keep going on, Even though we know our life is a loan. When we reach out and touch another life, Whether it be stranger, friend, our child or wife We’re imitating Christ as He said from above: The greatest gift of all is our love! |
