When bad things happen to good people - it tests our faith!

THE WINTER OF MY DISBELIEF

My faith has been sorely tested;
I turn a deaf ear to more news
Of mass destruction, of death,
Of sickness and sobering views.

It is cold, with people freezing
On the streets without a home;
This is America! I am shouting,
No one should ever be alone!

Bombs are bursting, killing soldiers;
When will all the killing end?
Brother against brother,
Even friend against a friend..

Where is God? I cry in anquish;
Does He not see such pain?
Babies dying, little angels -
Must He take them home again?

Yet in the early morning,
Quiet comes and so does He
Reaching out a hand to comfort
Such a mortal fool as me.

Feel His love, and His forgiveness;
For He makes all things new;
Each today brings a tomorrow
With hope again for me and you.

Lift me up, oh precious savior;
Hold me until I can stand alone.
It is the winter of my disbelief
And I am chilled down to the bone.

I feel His love, once more around me;
I will not let evil rule my heart;
Each new day a gift so precious;
Each new day - a brand new start.
