A Choice

A wish and a dream
that’s what it is now,
a feeling of longing,
a gathering of clouds.

The remains of the past
are scattered by the wind.
But still they linger,
the pains that won't mend.

As many more lights
appear in the dark,
for both of us lies a choice,
to stay or to part.

We stand in the middle
of a fork in the path.
If dreams run their course,
what outcome will they have?
