Stuck in a job I really didn't like,
I worked like a dog both morning and night!
The one thing I did that really was fun
Was to make up the signs, like this one.

A chance to create, to get some attention,
I wrote a love note that I won't mention.
It was special, you see, with flower and heart;
But the boss got mad, and ripped me apart!

"Change the stupid sign" he shouted in rage;
Made me feel like I belonged in a cage!
So I changed it, it wasn't hard work -
I could tell everyone my boss was a jerk!

Signs of our times, when we have a chance
To put our two cents in, getting a glance
From people who pass and nod as they go,
My point well taken, it really does show

That revenge is something to be admired;
Would've been better if I hadn't been fired!
It all worked out for the best in the end,
A better job was waiting around the bend!

Now when I write, I get a pat on the back;
The boss likes me and there's no attack
On my creative juices that continue to flow
And I get a few smiles where ever I go!
