Julisa & Delilah - Chapter 2

Nathan - (Laying spent, on his back in a black stretch limousine, parked across from Saint Patrick’s) Ten more minutes!

Julisa - (Collecting her self and her things) I'm tempted, really I am! However, I have about five minutes to collect my clothes and myself, exit this limo and enter that chapel.

Nathan - (Glazing her calve with his finger) Lets create our own private ceremony, and join your family later at the reception!

Julisa - (Hand extended) Shoe!

Nathan - (Confused) Shoe?

Julisa - It's by your foot!

Nathan - Right! (Retrieving her shoe and handing it to her hesitantly)

New Scene

Marisol - (Pacing just inside the corridor of Saint Patrick’s, she approaches her niece as she enters accompanied by her spouse) Where's my daughter? I thought you said she would be here!

Delilah - She will! However, as accustomed she will be tardy and her entrance will be tactless, please excuse me Tia, the ceremony is about to begin! (Directing her attention to her spouse) Look there! Your brother has seats reserve for us!

New Scene

Julisa - Where do you think you're going? (Exiting the limousine and preventing Nathan from following)

Nathan - (Moving her gently out of the way) To the ceremony, of course!

Julisa - How cute! (Crossing her arms, she causes her cleavage to show more profoundly, however, unintentionally) Do you know what kind of scandal that would cause?

Nathan - (His eyes rise regrettably to meet hers once again) I'm quite aware of your marital status!

Julisa - Really? Are you aware of your lack of common sense?

Nathan - I have every right to attend this wedding!

Julisa - Don't be vague!

Nathan - The best man is my cousin! (He reaches into his inside jacket pocket and retrieves an envelope, which he extends to her. She immediately snatches it readily) He personally extended an invitation to me, since I'm back in town! (She briefly perused the contents of the envelope and tossed it back at him) Now may we proceed? (Extending his arm)

Julisa - Your reservation at the Plaza was planned?

Nathan - (Replacing the envelope in his inside pocket) Every last detail!

Julisa - Why?

Nathan - Why not? We haven't seen one another in ages! (Closing the distance between them) It was a perfect opportunity to reconnect, and what a reconnection don't you agree! (Holding her chin up, ever so slightly)

Julisa - In five years, you made only one change!

Nathan - That being?

Julisa - (Pulling away from his embrace) You got rid of that ridiculous mustache!

Nathan - I was rather proud of that mustache!

Julisa - So naive! (Reentering the Limousine)

Nathan - Where are you going?

Julisa - I'm placing my wedding band in the limo's safe! Aren't we going to be scandalous or what?

Nathan - The lady has to ask?
