Journal Entry, 6/30/04 We arrived in Tuscany yesterday. I see a look of joy upon my new friend’s face as if the child that was there long ago has returned and makes all impulses and inquiries to satisfy a curiosity unquenched. It is remarkable how many men pass by, looking, longingly at my friend. A series of flirtatious waves between them keeps the energy high and flowing. I have just met this friend four days ago on a train. I declare, I have found my Muse! This Muse is a wildly insightful person with large emerald green eyes set evenly apart and long dark eyelashes above a delicately pointed nose. I see high rosy cheekbones, full plum lips, pearly white teeth exposed almost always because of a smile while admiring the scenery. You can only see the tendrils of honey-brown hair, falling around a soft round face. There, upon my Muse’s elegant features, is a wide brimmed, white sunhat found in a Millinery shop this morning. I am almost in love with this sophisticated person meeting my eyes at five feet nine inches tall in two inch red Espadrilles. As we roam the village, my Muse looks simply stunning in the hat and eyelet halter sundress in crisp white cotton. The dress insinuates a voluptuous figure and swirls as we turn the corner up the grassy path. All this seems effortless to my Muse as the soft breeze flows downward, leaving behind the pleasant fragrance of Jasmine in the air.
