Once upon a time in a distant far off land
I've heard about in fairy tales where everything is grand
There always is a dragon slaying, princess saving prince
Who uses acts of courage to of his purity convince
I want to be the handsome prince, that I so often hear about
My noble deeds and gallant steed would earn me lots of clout
But to be a prince is out of reach for common men like me
No horse have I to to ride upon, nor ship to sail the sea
In times of heightened danger I'd rather run away
No damsel in distress have I, no dragon for to slay
No mirror on the wall have I to tell unto my ears
Of all the pleasant things that I so desire hear
No servants fill my castle, for a castle I have none
No perfect sunset in the west to show me day is done
But the most important thing I lack is a princess for to save
For when a prince does save a princess there ends his lonely days
So I live more like a peasant, as humble as can be
Because to be a handsome prince is out of reach for me
