Personal observations. |
Enjoying, watching children at play, Is something I’m privileged to do each day. The faltering steps of little babes, Toddlers adventures, a few close shaves. Petite lips quiver as they look at you, But hugs and kisses their spirits renew. No adult can emulate the sudden joy, Of growing minds learning from some new toy. Rapturous looks when they finally achieve, Helps them to grow and in themselves believe. The wistful smiles as they espy, A brand new challenge they’d like to try. Expressions change in just a flash, As from heights of happiness they crash. Shattered egos and tears occur, When to their will another won’t defer. To puff and pout and stamp their feet, Is part of behaviour not so discreet. Uninhibited, obstinate, fragile and smart, Children’s overall innocence tugs at your heart. The twinkling eyes, the laughter and squeals, The passion of children always appeals. Who would believe, a runny nose and dirty face, Could walk around with such bearing and grace. A beaming upturned face they raise, When given even the slightest praise. Slithering tears down cheeks gently pause, As chubby fingers you clasp in yours. To receive from children unconditional love, Is the greatest gift from our Maker above |
