YOU LOOKED

You looked beyond the cancer
and saw me.
You looked beyond the pain
and saw me.
You looked beyond the fear
and saw me.
You saw me.
You listened to my worries
and heard me.
You listened to my sorrows
and heard me.
You listened to my cries
and heard me.
You heard me.
You gave me compassion
and with it hope.
You gave me courage
and with it purpose.
You gave me friendship
and with it love.
I love you.
