Little Angel

It was a bittersweet night
as this sad news came to me...
For it was your time
sweet little one to leave your family...

The day had been long as they were
with you by your bedside...
Praying all day long and to the
Lord they certainly did confide...

Was this the start of your journey home?
as they prayed that it just couldn’t be..
It came so fast and they could not
fully understand God’s plan nor see.

Only four short years you were
with them; oh little one..
You had barely lived; your life
so young it had barely begun...

The angels came to take you home
to the stars and heavens above.
But please know sweet little angel
you were so very loved...

Many hearts will be sad and
many tears will fall...
As this is extremely tough
and so very hard to be strong and stand tall.

You will surely be missed sweet little angel
on this sad August night..
