When Time Stood Still

Speechless
I stood over you & saw
your brains splattered on the ground
"No, no!" I screamed
but I did not make a sound--
That's when time stood still
The breeze stopped
blowing through the trees
Even the ones marked white
the ones doomed with disease
Doomed as you were
& so was I
Time stood still
I could not even cry
The clocks stopped ticking & tocking
Big & little hands frozen in place
& with a smile on his face
the Lord Almighty gently began rocking you
& welcoming you into His Kingdom--
That's when time stood still.
