Though I have been a legal adult for three years, I didn't start to consider myself a true adult until I turned twenty. With that milestone came a lot of twists and turns I hadn't forseen: new loves, owning up to horrible deeds, learning about my friends and finding my place in my family. While arguably more peaceful than my adolescence, adulthood has not been a walk in the park. I still continue to do battle with myself, and sometimes the only way to articulate this Stik versus self conflict is through the sin we call poetry. I call it a sin because I'm working on diversifying my works. However, some poems beg to be written, and in adulthood, these poems are of the most unpredictable kind.
