for all those romantic insomniacs out there!
I lay in bed- knowing sleep won't come

My mind begins to wonder-

and thoughI hate it-

the memories of us race through my mind

I toss and turn trying to fight
what-I know-is a never ending battle
between my head and my heart.

I take a deep breath and blow it out hard trying to push your face from of my mind.

Then I start to sweat- remembering the passion that would ingite between us from merely locking eyes

and my skin starts to tingle as I remember the feel of your hand on my body- the way you always knew how to touch me to drive me crazy.

I lick my lips remembering the sweet taste of your kiss-and how it could fix anything and leave me in a complete haze...

My breath quickens when I remember how you could take me to places of complete pleasure and pure ectasy

Then out of nowhere- I begin to giggle remembering the way you could always make me laugh and the playfulness you used to bring out in me.

Then my heart stops-for a split second-when I realize that I'm laying here-without you and the finality of it

Then the tears begin to fall- because I know I have lost you....

Then a warm rush runs through me as I realize that though our relationship is over you left me with all the memories and feelings we shared

Then the elusive sleep-and peace I was waiting for-finally comes
