The desire for love to step outside of dreams. |
"Reality Beach" The shade of the sky transitions, In your arms, my favorite position. I watch the sun as it begins to hide, Slowly departing, saying good-bye. If I could, I’d stop time here, And stay with you for a hundred years. I’d end my life here instantly, So I could remember this moment for all of eternity. My eyes flutter open, And loneliness ensues. It was just another dream, Another night filled with you. I try to run back, To hide with you on that beach But the day beckons, And hell awaits. I yearn throughout the day, To be back with you that way. And I let a tear slide, ‘cause there’s nowhere here to hide. I miss the way you whisper in my ear, Telling me the things I love to hear. I miss the way your hand fits with mine, Clasping together perfectly every time. I miss the way you tell me you love me, And kiss my lips so soft and tenderly. I miss how you would wipe the tears from my eyes, Saving me from my rotten demise. I wish that you knew how much it means, That you’re there every night in my dreams. I need for you to say, “I love you”, I need my dreams to finally come true. I long for our love to be reality, For you to never stop holding me. I want a love that pure, I want to feel secure. I want my shelter to be your arms, Protecting me from every harm. Oh, won’t you please Step outside my dreams, And dance with me on that beach, Under the changing sky, Next to the abundant sea? And for once be there when I open my eyes, Leading me off to live forever by your side. |
