The cold air blows through my heavy coat,
even through my skin, right down to the bone.
It feels like an invasion..
Who is this cold air, so forcefully invading my private world?
The sun shines so brightly on the snow,
the light reflecting hurts my eyes.
And when I return to the warmth inside,
how dull and dark it appears.
Inside it’s nice and warm,
but I’m not free from winter’s evil grasp.
The air in here is so dry and stuffy,
my nose and eyes will never forgive me.
My hands are so dry from this winter!
They feel like sandpaper,
and it makes me shiver just thinking about
the texture of my usually soft hands
Oh winter! Let up just a little..
Give me a sign, a robin chirping please!
Give me a tulip or lilac,
or a warm, humid breeze.
