Brilliance must not burn. Be modest and sing His praise. |
RECEDING LIGHT:an acrostic There is a receding light, However fast I move. Engulfed inside a shadow, Lingering in a groove. I see in the shadowed light Ghosts risen from my past, Haunting, taunting me as if They would devour me fast. Receding, though, this light is Enmeshed in a shadow, Centered in it is a glow Expressing its credo: “Don’t be proud, nor show brightness, Exhibiting your might. Surely it may give others, Feeling, somewhat, of fright”. Righteous people don’t have to Observe a fighting path. Matters of conscience dictate, Mind must follow the heart. Every teaching and scripture Anchored in religion Nurtures a belief in mind, Detailing this notion: ‘That man is a servant of Him, the world’s creator. Empowered by Master’s grace Despite his low stature. As man applies heart and soul, Remembering duty; Knows he well that His will shall Never remain empty’. Ever if in life grief is Spreading like a black cloud; Sing His praise and you will find, Gone it will be, no doubt. At all time we must live in Thoughts about His good deeds. He is The Father, for our Entire life, us, He feeds. Realize let’s His kindness, So that love we harness. *Written as an acrostic around the prompt prompt “The light recedes from me, and the darkness gathers.” * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. * Awarded first prize in the contest "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 5 April 2005 |
