I want to paint a beautiful picture
With beautiful words
I want to create a Michaelangelo frieze
In literary form.
I want to write about love, hope and colour.
I want to see people trust one another.
Want to live in a world full of hope,
Paint a time when all mothers can cope.
I want to be there
When my Dad was a lad,
When my aunt was no slag,
'Fore my grandma went mad.
Want to have all my deep feelings sorted,
Live a life not aborted,
Have my questions retorted.
I want to stop telling of fear through the year,
Of wars and disasters,
Of my Lords and their Masters.
I want to tell of the good things in life.
Of the ease not the strife,
Of the fork not the knife.
I still want the fingers of fame through my brain,
Intertwined with my mind,
Never mind what's behind.
I still want to laugh with my pals time to time.
Eating food, drinking wine,
Have a whale of a time.
I still want a world full of hope.
A world where no mothers take dope.
Want to see all the people
Giving up on the needle.
Try to trust one another,
Talk of love not of colour.
Want the 'Gaudian' heat of a chimney complete
Or Italian renaissance fresco
Words of beauty my only left goal.
Want to recreate Saints
Not their lives' of complaint
Words of beauty, my duty to paint.
