hmm. it's a poem about not wanting to let go of someone and dwelling on the past.
Chain Me Free

I wish he would notice me out of the crowd
Those deep brown eyes
Shining in the sun’s rays
That night had came
They wed and left
Now everyday I wake
Is without purpose
When your heart trembles
Do you shake?
My body shakes frequently

It hurts
When the one thing
you could have had
Is gone forever
And sometimes
A broken heart does not care to heal

I dwell on the past
That look I saw when we were young
What happened to our friendship
Wasn’t it us that were to be wed?
I was stupid and reckless
I had cried there time after time
But gave up soon after
I could cry these tears
But what will they do?

It was you and me
In my room that night
Watching movies with silly looks on our faces
I’m sorry
I will not regret these years
Please do not chain me free
Don’t want time to rush past us
Why is there a need for death
When hell is right here on earth
Why can we not take what we have
And turn it into something else

My eyes burn
From unshed tears
You left me struggling
Reaching for something that did not exist
My heart will continue to hold the scars
You burnt there

How can there be hope
When there’s a chance
That things could only get worse?
Indeed my love for you is cruel
But it will not change
I thought once before that
‘Time cannot erase. But time heals.’
For a while I believe it.
Now I am endangered by it.
