I moved from NY to FL 3 years ago to be with my fiancee (also a Jew from NY). He passed away from colon cancer just this past January. I am so lost without him. He was the inspiration for my novel "The Secret Life of Parrots" which I am currently working on. He was always encouraging me to start it. "Stop talking about it and just do it!", is what he'd say to me. So now I am. They say parrots mate for life and he always called me his Parrot Queen.
