Summary of this Book...
The Sparkpeople Cookbook is much more than just a collection of recipes. It teaches a great deal about food itself, as well as cooking, much as the famous Joy of Cooking cookbook does. This book, though, places much emphasis on healthy foods and healthy cooking/eating.
This type of Book is good for...
Chefs and non-chefs alike can appreciate and learn from this book.
I especially liked... | ||
I loved the focus on REAL foods. You won't find any recipes asking you to use a can of condensed soup as a sauce! There are also great tips for each recipe and for many ingredients!
I didn't like... | ||
Not all the recipes have photos of the finished product, but most do.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Cook! | ||
The author of this Book...
Chef Meg Galvin works for the website www.SparkPeople.Com which is a site dedicated to helping people live healthy lives.
I recommend this Book because...
It's not just another cookbook!
Further Comments... | ||
If you're like me, you've collected quite a few cookbooks over the years, and you might question whether or not you REALLY need another one. I thought the same thing before I bought this one, but I was pleasantly surprised by the book. I've read it cover-to-cover (there are chapters outside the recipes!) and I've used it several times since I bought it. I can see myself using this cookbook for the rest of my life!
