What can be said about the sixth studio release from one of the greatest hard rock bands in the history of music?! Physical Graffiti, by Led Zeppelin, has been touted as one of the best albums in history and there are many reasons why. Going back to their roots, many of the songs in this album take you from the rock-out bang-your-head songs to soothing, groovy tunes that make you want to relax and chill out (without the additional help of some kind of mind-altering substance). Wonderful writing/lyrics, beats and rhythms that take you on to journeys beyond what you might expect from the Zep, this is a band that was not afraid to go to new places. All we were required to do was sit back and enjoy the ride.

Those who like the blues, hard rock, groove, and soul.

Goodness...what didn't I like? The Rover slays me with its riffs and drumming (got to give Jimmy Page and John Bonham the utmost props for that one). Kashmir has been saturated in the mainstream for years now, and still manages to wield its magic with its steady, thumping beat and allusions to the Middle East. Bron-Yr-Aur is beautiful. Simply put. One of their shortest pieces, it's a guitar solo by Jimmy Page that makes you want to soar (or cry) depending on your mood. In my Time of Dying - (good thing you can't hear me squealing in the background) - absolutely LOVE that song! The drums/beat in the background and the groove...talk about taking a blues classic and turning it upside down and inside out until you're wrung out dry and still seeking more!

Alive. Exhilarated. Ecstatic. Groovy and desperately wishing I had at least been to one of their concerts while they were still a four-man team of giants.

Having also listened to Led Zeppelin I, II, III, IV, and Houses of the Holy, it really is hard to pick and choose which songs are my absolute favorites because each album brings something to the table that makes you shake your head in amazement. There are some hidden treasures beyond the "Stairway to Heaven" phenomena, and I sincerely encourage fans of MUSIC in general to take the time to listen to these albums/songs. Led Zeppelin is the perfect example of what happens when four musical geniuses come together to create masterpieces that will last for generations to come.
