On a nice October day in a small town in Maine, a sudden invisible barrier imprisons the town’s residents from the rest of the world. And if this weren’t enough, one of Chester Mill’s leading select men, who is also running an illegal side business, uses his power to try to become a supreme ruler. Only a few folks can stop him. But can they do it in time?

One of the leading characters in the book, a veteran of Irag, Dale Barbara (or ‘Barbie’, to his nemeses). His portrayal as a fighter against the tyranical politician is exemplary.

The ending seemed to hit a brick wall. After reading the first 1,000 good pages, he brought the ending to an abrupt halt.

Fantastical. That’s to say that in this ever developing world of technology and science, who knows what could happen.

Stephen King has written another good one, but at over a thousand pages, it wasn’t quite up to his usual greatness.

Stephen King can still write, but this one didn’t quite do it for me with the ending.
