Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is a BBC murder mystery show that is still running. It has been on the air since 1997. Mr. Hooves and I have been enjoying it tremendously on Netflix. The main character is Inspector Tom Barnaby. He is a smart and witty man with lots of cheeky observations. It is a funny show with good and complex mysteries. Usually there are at least two or three murders to solve. The first episode in this set is set in a town called, Badger's Drift. These towns are supposed to be British, but they look like Ireland. Mr. Hooves thinks Midsomer is the name of the county, but that hasn't been explained yet.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who enjoys good mysteries with lots of suspects and lots of red herrings.
I especially liked... | ||
John Nettles as Inspector Baranaby. I also enjoy the young man who plays Detective Sargent Gavin Troy.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
ask Mr. Hooves to pass the popcorn. These are about an hour and a half each and we usually stay awake for the whole thing. If you have netflix, check it out.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is excellent. I enjoy the back and forth between Barnaby and Troy about Troy's atrocious driving. That is very funny and there are lots of humorous moments in these mysteries.
I recommend this DVD because...
Mr. Hooves found it and at first I was hesitant, but it won me over with a lot of countryside humor and anecdotes. I love the characters - all of them, especially Tom Barnaby's wife, Joyce and daughter, Cully. This is an example of great casting.
