Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the story of an elderly man named, Woody, who gets a notice in the mail saying he won a Publisher's Sweepstakes prize of 1 million dollars. He takes it seriously, very seriously. He lives in Montana, but is determined to go to Lincoln, Nebraska, to claim his prize. This movie is in black & white and features stand-out performances by Bruce Dern and Will Forte as his son, who helps him make the journey to "claim his prize." Along the way, they stop in Woody's hometown and a lot of worms come out of the woodwork wanting a share of his prize. This movie was rather slow moving, but I enjoyed it. Mr. hooves thought that it dragged too much and was ready to throw in the towel after the first half hour. We hung in there, though.
I especially liked... | ||
It was a good movie, but not a great one. As far as Oscar contenders go, I thought Captain Philipps was a better film. Will Forte's performance was the standout for me.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is good at quirky, slow moving humor. Stacey Keach was good as the oily villain.
