Summary of this Book...
This novel is ingenious. It is very well crafted and utilizes imaginative writing techniques that won it the first ever Hugo Award for Best Novel. In a time when government and law enforcement can read your thoughts, how would you go about committing (and getting away with) a premeditated murder? That is what the protagonist sets out to do in this novel. It is a paranoia-inducing story that builds to a frenzy pitch, but every moment of it is thoroughly enjoyable. The ruses used to escape detection and mask his murderous thoughts are brilliant as well.

Anyone who calls themself a science fiction fan should have read this novel already, to be honest. It is best suited for genre fans, though some of the writing techniques would probably thrill any writer as well.
The author of this Book...
Alfred Bester is my hero. That sounds silly, but it is true. I look up to him more than any other author because he had a successful career in every imaginable format and has been influential for so many genres. The fact that he has been largely forgotten is a travesty.
