Summary of this Book...
This book is by the bestselling Australian Author, Liane Moriarty. She also write "The Husband's Secret", which I enjoyed. This story deals with parents of young children in a seaside town. There is bullying and it occurs on the children's level and the adults. Laced throughout is the story of a violent abuser who seems to be on the road to a tragedy of huge proportions and far-reaching consequences. The book has a mysterious element as the reader isn't sure who the bully is or who is lying as we go along. It is a compelling and engaging read. I read it on my Kindle and enjoyed it. The interaction between the women is funny and seems real. The men are less realistic, but they are still good. When this author creates a villain, the reader (this reader anyway) ends up on board with hating him.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who likes a fast paced modern story with a lot of humor and suspense.
I especially liked... | ||
how she develops the character of Jane, the newcomer to the community who is bullied along with her son, who is accused of being the bully in the first place. There are a lot of hypocritical adults in this book, not so many children who lie.
The author of this Book...
does a very good job of creating characters that I, as a reader, care about. I liked her ending here, too. It took care of alot of loose ends although I wanted to see where Jane's new relationship might go. Maybe she will write a sequel - hope so!
