Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is a hard hitting Detective series that we are watching on Netflix mailing disks. The title is deceptive - this is called: "Aftermath", but it is the first one you should watch in order for the series to make any sense. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks is in charge of an investigation into missing young (teenage) girls. A serial killer is discovered and all the girls' bodies are found, except one. The killer also kills a policeman, but he is mortally wounded by a female cop. In a twisted bit of logic, the female cop gets in trouble for being over zealous in the defense of her partner, even though she caught and stopped a serial killer. Banks develops a weird relationship with the killer's wife as he learns there is more than one person involved in the twisted web of the psychopath. A gung ho detective, named Annie arrives on the scene to attract Banks and seemingly sabotage his every move. An uneasy work relationship ensues.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who wants to watch a hard-hitting crime show that isn't predictable in its outcomes. This is the prequel for the series to make any sense.
I especially liked... | ||
that things are rarely as they seem. Stephen Thompkinson does a good job as Banks, a detective who really cares about the victims.
The cast of this DVD... | ||
is excellent. I see in the photo that Caroline Catz will enter the show at some point - I'm looking forward to that.
