Summary of this DVD... | ||
This show is awesome! It has humor and history all rolled up into one hilarious package. This is Season 8 and we watched it on Netflix mailing. I think Season's 1-7 are on Netflix streaming now. This show is remarkable as the cast has not changed (except for an addition here and there) since the first season in 2008. Detective Murdoch, in this season, marries his true love Julia Ogden, the former Coroner. She is very into women's rights in Toronto and Murdoch is still solving mysteries involving famous people of the time, including T.R. Roosevelt and Thomas Edison. Murdoch is a very devout Catholic and he suffers discrimination in his employment advancement because of his faith and his openness about it. There is a lot of humor in these episodes - humor, intrigue and mystery along with references to famous inventions to be. This is a wonderful show and we love it! Thomas Brackenreid and Constable Crabtree, in particular, are hilarious characters. All the actors in this show are superb and it is very unique and enjoyable in its scientific revelations about case solving in the early twentieth century (this 8th season takes place around 1902)
I especially liked... | ||
Thomas Craig as Brackenreid.
I didn't like... | ||
the whole lesbian thing, but it seemed contrived to me and forced with Dr. Grace. She certainly changed from the preceeding seasons.
