Summary of this Book...
This is a meandering and beautifully written story about, what is essentially, a hippie commune in a dystopian future. The writing itself straddles the line between prose and poetry, and I believe that it is the type people will either love or hate with little in between.
This type of Book is good for...
People who are interested in literature from the late 1960's will find it intriguing. Those who enjoy poetry from the era might be especially fond of it. This is a classic.
I especially liked... | ||
To be honest, I fell in love with the language instantly, and by the time I finished the second page, I knew it would be one of my top five favorite books of all time. It is that type. The part that clinched it for me (on page 2): I know a river that is half-an-inch wide. I know because I measured it and sat beside it for a whole day. It started raining in the middle of the afternoon. We call everything a river here. We're that kind of people.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Buy it and read it over and over and over and over.
I recommend this Book because...
It's brilliant! I recommend reading the entire story if you enjoy the language used. The story elements are confusing at first, but there is a method to the madness. Hold on tight, enjoy the ride! Everything will become clear soon enough.
