On Part 6, Chapter 12 of the audiobook and I love it!

Rob Lowe goes into detail about his life and times in the business, with some personal family touches thrown in for good measure.

I think a lot of people don't like it as much as SIOTMF because this is more of a 'master class' study book, in that he gives a ton of advice to young/future/current actors and people in the biz. As an aspiring screenwriter, I think I glean more from his advice than the average 'I just want to be entertained' Joan.

From craziness at the Playboy Mansion to sending his kid off to college he comes across as genuine and likable. No, we won't agree on everything, but given the right happenstance of events I could see myself being friends with this semi-affluent white guy that's 20 years my senior. He is from Dayton, OH after all...

I liked this pretty man in The Outsiders and I LOVE him in Parks & Rec; those affections continue through this book.

Audio is EVERYTHING! Not only do you get to hear Rob speak directly to you he actually does a fair number of vocal impressions that are pretty funny.

For whatever reason it was easier for me to stick with this book where StoriesIOTMF lost me early on. I could not relate to hobnobbing with the Kennedy's and other politicos. Aziz's Modern Love and Mindy's books hit closer to home at the time.

Generation Gap not withstanding (hence the 4/5 stars), I really like this guy and enjoy the entertainment stories. I haven't finished Californication and so had no idea (or just forgot) he was even on it. I am more interested in the kiss he gave 'Ron Swanson' in PnR, THAT one came out of NOWHERE! Where can I find the pilot to Dr. Vegas? and the missing episodes of LionHeart?!!? (heard him talk about that on Public Radio and have been obsessed ever since)
