Summary of this Book...
Penelope Presley's grandfather has promised her in marriage to the duke known as the Beast of Yorkshire. The duke has already lost two wives and a fiancee in questionable circumstances, and most believe he killed them himself. Will Penelope be the next to die?
I especially liked... | ||
By the time the identity of the murderer was revealed, I had figured out who it was, but there were enough false leads to keep me guessing for most of the book.
I didn't like... | ||
In the second half of the book, when they were in London, there were too many coincidences for my liking. Somehow the missing aunt and missing cousin are the ones to come to the rescue? It just seemed a little too neat. Sometimes the heroine made some stupid choices. Running off to London, getting in to the carriage of a strange woman who was clearly from the wrong side of the tracks, sleeping in the park instead of going home to a place of safety, getting all stupidly emotional over the validity of the marriage which was clearly not the duke's fault... At times I just wanted to shout at her.
