This is, essentially, a murder-mystery type of YA novel. An emancipated 17-year-old girl whose parents were murdered in front of her as a toddler decides to go in search of the truth.

People who like this sort of book, I guess. It's not an excellent example of the genre, but it's alright.

It was fast-paced for the most part. It's also written in present tense, which I enjoy.

The majority of the book was setup, so you're over halfway through by the time she gets around to investigating, and even then, it's not that well done. Major plot vehicles are abandoned quickly. The entire book was based around the idea that her memories were coming back in flashes, and that ends up being of no importance in the end. The end was also not predictable, since she did a poor job investigating. There is also a grafted-in and gratuitous love interest. Sadly, very little character development... certainly not enough for a first person POV.

Bored at times. There were some snappy sections that were interesting, but there was a good amount of filler that could have been utilized with further development instead.
