Summary of this Book...
Audio-book; written and read by Sir David Attenborough. Contains three of his earliest expeditions; Zoo Quest for a Dragon, Zoo Quest in Paradise, Zoo Quest Under Capricorn Set in the early '60s, the Zoo Quest expeditions were Attenborough's first zoological filming exploits. The TV series was hughly popular and he recounts three of the expeditions. The first one to Komodo for the first ever filming of a komodo dragon. Then to Indonesia for the almost mythical birds of paradise and lastly to Australia for, well, everything. From getting lost at sea to sleeping beside a corpse in a longhouse, from hiking through dense jungle to going walkabout, Attenborough covers more adventures (and most endearingly and matter-of-factly) in ten hours than most of us will ever live.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who is interested natural history/animals, adventure or Attenborough's autobiography.
I especially liked... | ||
His voice..... Sir David is a national treasure. There has been not one, but at least two generations that have grown up listening to his soothing, calm voice.
I didn't like... | ||
His Australian accents. So. Bad.
This Book made me feel...
Like I was listening to a grandfather tell of the insane adventures of his early adulthood. All warm and cosy and (if coming from ANYONE else) not entirely believable!
The author of this Book...
Is in his 90s and still does broadcasting for the BBC and natural history programmes for the UK.
