This one was a fun read. If an average novel can be compared to a movie, this story is a skit, but an entertaining one. In fact, I think the storyline, the way the characterization seems to be written as concisely as possible, added to the goofiness of the plot could make this story a perfect candidate for a movie in the hands of a good filmmaker.

In the story, Fiona Kitchen, a small town girl from Pennsylvania, moves to NewYork City to open the RUB, a massage spa, similar to the one she had at home, but the spa doesn’t do well, and Fiona is forced to take a second job. That second job is as an elevator operator in a posh building. As she rides up and down, Fiona tries to get the building residents to accept her services as a massage therapist, however with dubious results.

She also meets several people like the doorman, a Columbian drug lord, a notorious mob boss, and a handyman, but is that handyman really a handyman? This is up to the readers to find out.

Although this story is lightly treated, the apartment building is as much a character as the other primary characters. The pace of the story is very fast, the treatment of the story very light, and the plot distantly reminiscent of an eccentric Cinderella story with a cutesy sense of humor.

The story is easily readable in a short time probably as a diversion.
