Summary of this Book...
Unlike some of King's other books where the drama and horror builds slowly, this story throws it in your face in the first chapter. "The Pulse" as it comes to be known, is a signal sent through cell phones to infect anyone on their phone at the time of the incident turning them into manic, bloodthirsty zombies.
I especially liked... | ||
The first chapter and first half of the story was exceptional. Completely terrifying and horribly gruesome.
I didn't like... | ||
Unfortunately, the ending wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped. If you read, don't get your hopes up. The story itself, however, is still worth it, despite the let down ending.
This Book made me feel...
Paranoid and on edge. In our modern world, it isn't too far-fetched to think a technological plague like this could infect modern civilizations in some way, though perhaps not as horrifically as in this tale.
I recommend this Book because...
If you like a gruesome horror, this is one to add to your reading shelf. It is fast, chilling, and emotional.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If a poor ending ruins an entire story for you, I would not recommend reading this book. If you can enjoy the story as it unfolds for what it is and perhaps invent your own ending (we are writers after all), that might be your best bet.
